Our Officers have a strong commitment to serving the many constituents of our organization. But first and foremost, they focus their energies on those who take advantage of our programs and services.
Our board represents a cross-section of our community and has a passion for our organization and those we serve. The members work hard to ensure the long-term sustainability of the organization and oversee that the funds raised directly affect those in need.
Benny Ferrara – President
Benjamin J. Ferrara
President: Founding Hearts Foundation of Philadelphia
As a founding member of FHP, Benny’s charitable work began in 2000 when he became an official member of the South Philadelphia chapter of Unico. Through concerted focus and effort, he helped raise awareness of the chapter by building its membership and introducing new programs and events that raised in excess of a quarter million dollars for Unico recipients which included Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Sisters of the Poor, Gift of Life, and St. Christopher’s Hospital amongst numerous others.
Benny’s volunteer work includes Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia, Huddle up for Autism, Speak and Learn program, Toys for Tots, and running a clothing drive for the homeless. He is also involved as a member of the 1492 Society, having marched in five Columbus Day parades as well as having marshaled the parade for five years, commencing 2012.
After 17 years of service with a Nationally known Italian American Organization, in an effort to expand membership and resources, Benny founded his own organization, Founding Hearts Foundation of Philadelphia.
Benny is also an active member of the business community. He and his brother John are owners and operators of Twins Auto Body, established in 1989, and Twins at Foxchase Autobody established in 2011.
Benny is an avid sports fan and hockey player, and through Twins Auto Body, he and his brother John are sponsors to various children’s sports teams within the Philadelphia community.
Both Benny and John have received numerous awards and recognition for their service to our community from Philadelphia RowHome Magazine and have been named in the

John Ferrara – Vice-President
Vice-President: Founding Hearts Foundation of Philadelphia
John was born and raised in South Philly and is still a resident there. He graduated South Philadelphia High, where while attending he made All Public in Bowling three times and won three Championships. He is an avid sports fan and plays amateur hockey. Through his business, he and his brother are sponsors to various children’s sports teams within the Philadelphia community. John and Benny are owners and operators of Twins Auto Body, established in 1989, and Twins at Foxchase Autobody established in 2011. Kristen Caprara “KC” – Secretary
Dr. Kristen A. Caprara is a licensed psychologist and the Director of Trauma Services at Children’s Crisis Treatment Center’s Montgomery County site. Kristen has provided mental health services to underserved children and their families within community mental health and non-profit settings since 2001 and has worked at the Children’s Crisis Treatment Center (CCTC) since 2007. In addition to striving to provide underserved children and their families with high-quality mental health treatment, she has also been involved with charitable organizations. Kristen also served as a member of a nationally known Italian American organization from 2014 – 2017. In her spare time, Kristen enjoys spending time with her family, cooking and baking, and crocheting. Her family and friends lovingly refer to her as KC.
Bob Stavola – Treasurer
Robert (Bob) Stavola, Jr. was born in December 1970 in South Philadelphia, PA. At the age of five, Bob’s family moved to Gloucester Township, NJ where he attended the Blackwood Elementary, Charles W. Lewis Middle School, and Highland Regional High School. Throughout his school years, Bob was involved in Student Government, Boys Interact and was class president in both middle and high school. At the age of 19, Bob started his career with the Gloucester Township Police Department as a Class I Special Law Enforcement Officer and part-time 9-1-1 Telecommunicator and was also working as a substitute teacher at the high school and elementary school levels. In 1995 Bob become a full-time police officer with the Gloucester Township Police Department where he held the positions of Society Improvement Officer, D.A.R.E. Instructor, and Field Training Officer. Bob rose through the ranks of the patrol division and was promoted to Sergeant of Police in July 2001 and then to Lieutenant of Police in 2009. He was instrumental in developing the Gloucester Township Police Department’s Honor Guard and commanded that unit for several years. After 25 years of service to his community, Bob retired in June 2015. Bob can be found playing golf at Ron Jaworski’s Valleybrook Golf Course, where he held the title of Gold Flight Champion in 2013 or fishing on one of his boats in either Avalon or Cape May, NJ. His proudest and most cherished moments are being a Godfather and Confirmation Sponsor to his beloved nephew and nieces, Antonio, Alessia and Arianna Catanzariti.From 2002 to 2005, Bob was a volunteer at the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and routinely visited patients with his certified therapy dog/Rottweiler Remington. Bob has been involved in various charitable organizations and events including the Philadelphia Chapter of a nationally know Italian American organization, the Veterans Multi-Service Organization and Nico’s Army.
Michael Tuono – Sargent of Arms
Michael Anthony Tuono – “Mikey T” Michael is the 2nd generation business owner of T&N Homemade Kitchen in South Phila – the latest version of the combination of T&N Deli opened in 1980 at 5th & Porter & T&N Luncheonette opened in 1984 where Michael currently operates the business at 1820 W. Moyamensing Ave. Michael has grown the business from its “mom & pop” roots to a bustling eatery & catering company which also owns & operates 2 food trucks for big festivals & private catering events. His “Jeet?” mobiles can be seen all over South Philly, the PA suburbs, NJ, Delaware..you name it!! Michael has taken & trademarked the iconic South Philly phase “Jeet?” & made it his brand. All while also being an active member of the South Philadelphia Chapter of a nationally known Italian American organization since 2013, a member of the St. Pio Catholic Regional School Festival Committee, the Phila Mobile Food Association, & never turning down a charitable request for a gift card, food donation, monetary donation, or gift basket. Michael has a degree in Chemical Engineering from Villanova University & served as the philanthropy chairmen for his fraternity Delta Tau Delta planning many schools sponsored charity events. Now as a founding member of the Founding Hearts Foundation of Philadelphia, it is one of his proudest moments to help provide joy & relief to others through hard work & dedication other than just easily cutting someone a check ~ “Real results requires rolling up your sleeves & getting down & dirty!” ~
Lou Pinto – Social & Media Director
“I grew up in South Philadelphia (Rocky Country) and have always had the “Rocky Mentality” that if you work at something hard enough no goal is impossible to reach.” – Lou Pinto
Louie was Born and Raised in South Philly of which he heads the group of the same name,
South Philly Born and Raised consisting of 17,000 plus members. He writes and markets for Philadelphia RowHome Magazine and is currently in the process of writing a Book about the people of South Philly called
“50 Shades of Gravy, Our Saucy Adventures of Being South Philly Born and Raised”‘
He has been involved and supported several charitable organizations. A Board member (Entertainment Director) of Angels of Christmas for 22 years. Gift of Life, Children’s Miricle Network and the South Philadelphia Chapter of a nationally know Italian American organization.
For the last thirty-five years, he has been entertaining and making kids of all ages laugh as our resident Clown… “Bubbles Louie” Lou has recently started a new career setting up captioned phones for the hearing impaired with the nationally known company CaptionCall.
The thing that he is most proud of is his family. Lou is the proud father of three Beautiful Daughters and “Poppi” to four adorable Granddaughters. He has also been blessed with two great Son-in-laws and a Son-in-law to be.

Brian grew up in Philadelphia and has called it home for most of his life. As a city native, Brian is intimately familiar with how hard it is for a family to make ends meet as a result of an injury or accident. By being able to relate to his clients as a human being – with understanding and empathy – most of his clients have not only given him their trust but also their friendship.
